it's good.
I was using an air compressor venturi with good results but kept the air compressor on all the time.
I need to purchase a new vacuum pump I was looking at Tools Today and Veneer Supply not sure what cfm to get. don't want to overpower it.
What would suggest?
Works flawlessly
Double sided clamp works fine. The bridge clamp on the other hand does not work because the seal on it doesn’t form to a top with a radius. Who makes acoustic guitars without a radius these days? IDK but needless to say I’m very disappointed that the one clamp out of both of them I was really hoping to use doesn’t work.
Jon, glad to hear the double-sided clamp is working well for you. I’ve reached out by email about the bridge clamp and will make sure that gets taken care of. — Dan
Love the bench clamp. Pulls a great vacuum and holds the guitar well. I'd love to see a version at some point that has two valves–one for the bench-side vacuum seal and another for the guitar-side vacuum. This would enable the bench clamp to remain mounted when you're using it vertically and want to adjust the position of your guitar body. Otherwise an excellent tool.
All I can say is “I love it”. Especially for holding my radius sanding boards in place! Wonderful piece of equipment!!

Hi Dan, thanks for reaching out! So far, I’ve only had a couple opportunities to use the clamp. It works very well for acoustic guitar builds. I’ve been thinking of making a jig that would allow the clamp to be used at various angles which would make it a lot more versatile.
I made a couple tele style electric guitars since and found it not so useful because the disc is too large for solid bodies.
One other inconvenience is the outer gaskets easily slip out of their grooves
I’ve used it quite a bit! Works very well but I would offer this comment “ the round gasket material has rolled or slipped and few times, I think because the ends of the gasket slightly pull away from each other” perhaps a few drops of glue placed on the ends of the gasket and a few around the perimeter might help? I will try that on my clamp before I use it next never thought about that until you asked! Thanks for asking! Sometime down the road I’d like to buy one of the bridge clamps! I currently use a plywood homemade one pretty ugly but it works😀

Dan was amazing - helping me fix my issues with an early design. Works perfectly, now time build guitars!
Thanks, David. I appreciate you sticking with it while we got the seal sorted out. Enjoy the clamp, and happy building!
The seals do not stay in place so I am constantly putting them back in the groove. Have thought of using silicone to secure fit.
Bill, thanks for the honest feedback. You shouldn’t have to keep pushing seals back into the groove. The early clamps shipped with a round seal that can roll out of the channel. I’ve since switched to a D-shaped seal that sits flat in the groove and stays put. I’ve emailed you about sending a set at no charge. If anyone else has an early clamp with round seals, email me at dan@cariko.com and I’ll send you the new ones too. — Dan
